1/48 F-35A LIGHTNING II

The LOCKHEED F-35 A LIGHTNING II is the most technologically advanced modern fighter on the planet. The F-35 was developed under the Joint Strike Fighter Program (JSF). It is seen as a fifth-generation fighter. Three variants were developed, variant A for the Air Force, B for the Marines and C for the Navy. These aircraft possess highly advanced stealth characteristics and network connectivity as well as superior situational awareness thanks to numerous integrated sensors. First delivered in 2015, over 3000 are planned for deployment around the world. Inheriting the Lightning appellation from the famed P-38, the F-35 will lead worldwide air arms for years to come. This fighter is now part of Tamiya’s legendary 1/48 Aircraft Series. Thanks to extensive research, the A variant of the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II can be built with an incredible level of realism. This kit features highly realistic depictions of the Radar absorbent material (RAM) sections, the weapons bay (inside details including depictions of wiring) as well as engine nozzle, cockpit, and landing gear bays and nose undersurface side details. Other notable highly realistic renditions include the Martin-Baker US16E ejection seat (multiple-pc design) and the engine nozzle (5-pc design). Details include a ladder which extends from nose’s left side, Y-shaped air intakes and boxes stored in nose landing gear bay. Also, not to miss are RCS (radar cross section) enhancers affixed to top and bottom sections (2 for each, 4 in total) during basic training exercises. Transparent parts capture sensor windows. This kit can be assembled with a choice of the three ordnance patterns, stealth mode, air-to-air mode or beast mode. Ordinance parts can be attached under the wing. Choose to build with open or closed weapons bay covers. Build with the canopy (interchangeable) with up or down flaps. The boarding ladder can also be assembled and extended or retracted. Includes a realistically recreated seated pilot figure with Helmet-Mounted Display (HMD) and various kinds of ordnance: AIM-9X Sidewinder x2, AIM-120C AMRAAM x2, GBU-12 Paveway II x4, and GBU-31 JDAM x2. Nine marking options are included: U.S. Air Force, Japan Air Self-Defense Force, Royal Norwegian Air Force, Royal Danish Air Force, Royal Australian Air Force, Israeli Air Force, Italian Air Force, Republic of Korea Air Force, and Royal Netherlands Air Force (a drag chute fairing component is included for the Royal Norwegian Air Force.).
